How to repair wetsuit hole

Before you start crying about. While there are steps that you can take to ensure good care of your wetsuit , even the best wetsuits can end up with a tear or a hole. Need to repair a wetsuit ? This post was written to help you do just that! We break down the steps needed to fix a hole or small tear in your wetsuit ! The simplest hole to repair is a hole that is so small that you do not need any additional neoprene to cover it up (you can just glue the neoprene back together) and is not much more than an inch (or maybe two) long. Anything bigger I recommend that you take it to wetsuit repair shop.


Also – if the stitches are torn and the seams are opening up I also suggest you take it to the repair shop.

If a seam breaks open or a cut in the neoprene penetrates the jersey liner, the hole needs to be sewn shut. Registration is not required to read the forums, but we encourage you to join. All in all, it’s probably. I have had great luck with wetsuit repair cement but I have not had a tear through the fabric. You probably need to reinforce the inside somehow.

It will fix virtually anything an if done properly, your wetsuit repair will make your suit even stronger than before. To repair a hole or tear, get some removable tape such as painters tape to create a backing for the repair. The hole isn't all the way thru the neoprene fortunately!
